i agree. Blogging once a week was a lot because we have so much work in other classes to sometimes i felt like I had more work to do for this class than all my others combined. I also feel though that it was a good way to go about the class because we all learned so much from eachother.

I have to disagree with you when you talk about not liking group work. I love working in groups because i think that it makes you learn about other people. It also gives you a chance to work out problems with others. I feel it is easier to have a group if you have questions you can just ask each other instead of trying to figure it out on your own. Yeah sometimes people don't like to do their share of work, but that is when you stick of for your group and say something. I feel that when my group worked together we learned a lot from eachother in many different ways. We all had different ways of going about things but it just made it that much more interesting.

This one has sorta been my favorite too, it's right to the point and it doesn't go all over the place like the other books have been.

I agree with you that all of the books we've read are all related because there is always a crazy person and there are always relationship problems. I don't know how these people function. I too hope that the Native Speaker book is better and more fun to read!

I agree that some of the books like the Sound and the Fury was difficult to read but this one was an easy read. Also most of these books have twisted characters like the family dynamics of Nel and Sula.

I also agree that some of these books were a little rough and that I have enjoyed this one. Also it is true that we have read a lot of books that have a lot of twisted characters in them.

I too dislike group work. I don't like it for the main reason I feel responsible. When a person in the group doesn't do their work, I don't stand up to them and tell them, I may remind them to do it, but thats it. I get afraid of getting a bad group grade so if they continue to not do the work, I end up doing it for them. I don't like getting a grade on something I didn't do. I like to get my work graded and know that I did to the best of my ability not to the best of someone elses. Theres just too much to worry about with deadlines and information and meeting. It's just a pain sometimes. Some projects work, but its usually when they are just for in class and not outside, that way there is no reliability on anyone else.

I can completely agree with your dis-like of group work. As we talked about before I told you what happened to me last semester. It really makes a difference who you are grouped up with, however, like you said I think it's going pretty well and we are getting everything done that needs to be accomplished.

I felt similiarly. I'm not a big fan of the Great Gatsby, and I was sometimes confused by Hemmingway myself. We've already started into Faulkner, so how do you feel about him now?
